Cast your mind way back....

As this is the first day of the LFV blog I thought i'd continue this day of firsts by seeing what the first single & album was that you owned. It doesn't matter if you bought them or if they were gifts.
Mine are pretty dire but bear in mind that I was under 5 years old!

My first album : John Lawrenson School Choir
                           40 Favourite Nursery Rhymes
                           Polydor 2384 084
                           1976
This record was badly scratched through being handled by me at toddler age, before I held vinyl at the edges or owned a lint free cloth & some "Into the groove" record cleaner!
I don't remember my copy having a cover. I should imagine that I destroyed it with crayons & child friendly scissors.
As for the music on the album, well, it was just a piano played by the great Mr Lawrenson himself with him leading the choir like an overenthusiastic school master.

My First Single : David Essex
                            Silver Dream Machine
                            Mercury  BIKE1
                            1980
I loved this song when I was a kid. So much so that my Mum & Dad must have picked up on it because they bought me this single for my 5th Birthday.
Although the cover is tatty now, I still own this single & the vinyl itself is still like new. I occasionally give it a spin for old times sake.

And now...a real treat for you from YouTube - Silver Dream Machine performed on The Kenny Everett Show and introduced by Sid Snot!

  1. I have vague recollections of getting a Disney Greatest Hits album. Had an orange cover with all the characters on
