Robbie Krieger & John Densmore bury the hatchet for Ray Manzarek tribute

John Densmore and the other surviving members of the Doors have been at odds for the last ten years over the legacy of the band and, in particular, the licensing of their music for use in advertising. The situation is the subject of Densmore's new book The Doors: Unhinged.

Fortunately, that long standing feud was put to bed before bandmate Ray Manzarek passed away last month. Densmore told Rolling Stone "The inner circle knew Ray had cancer for a while. Then I heard he was really sick and called him. He said thank you for the prayers and told me chemo was f****d. So there was a closing, thank God."

While there are no firm plans yet, the reunited Densmore and Robbie Krieger are talking seriously about reuniting musically to pay tribute to Manzarek. "Let's play some Doors songs at the Whisky or Wiltern – there's a lot of great musicians in L.A. that we know and love and admire the band. I'd like to break the ice that way."
